The New Virtual Classroom

Updated: Jan 21, 2022

Are the youth of today loving the new virtual classroom? We reached out to several students and asked them how are they adjusting to this new way of education and here's what they had to say.

Student #1

I am on the fence about the new way that we go to school. On one hand, I enjoy staying at home every day because it keeps us safe; but on the other hand, I don't like that I have to pretty much teach myself.

Student #2

I prefer online school because I don't have to get up as early to catch the bus. I was getting up at 5 o'clock in the morning just to catch the bus at 6 o'clock and school doesn't start until 7:50am. I like that I can sleep in a little longer.

Student #3

I would rather go to school. I miss seeing my friends every day and getting out of the house. We used to have so much fun talking and laughing in person; and take trips together.

Student #4

I love the new virtual classroom because I still get to see my friends and teachers on the internet. We don't get to do all of the activities that we used to do, but it's still good that I get to see them. We've even created our own virtual backdrop to use while in class, so that's pretty cool.

These young people were very open and honest about their feelings with virtual learning and they were also very appreciative that someone asked them for their opinion. Are you frequently asking your children what they think about the new virtual classroom and what you can do to help them? They probably would love to sit and talk with you about it.
