Recipe for heart healthy salad with mandarin oranges, almonds, and spinach

Make this refreshing salad any time of the year as a compliment to any meal. It is also packed with healthy fiber to help you achieve your health & fitness goals. Here's what you will need for the salad:

  • Spinach or green leafy lettuce

  • 1 can of mandarin oranges

  • 1/2 cup of toasted sliced almonds

  • 1/3 cup diced green onions (optional)

  • Optional add-ons

  • 1/2 cup of diced green apples (optional)

  • 1/2 cup blueberries or strawberries


  1. Place spinach or green leafy lettuce in a large bowl (adding as much or little as you'd like)

  2. Drain mandarin oranges and add to salad bowl

  3. Add almonds and all other optional fruit to the salad bowl and mix
